The compact InWall Bronze/4 SlimSub paired with Triad’s RackAmp 350 DSP carries an MSRP of $1,400, and the company says the sub can produce SPL levels as high as 109dB once it is installed.

The Ore.-based speaker company Triad is a popular manufacturer of audio products within the specialty market and throughout its history it has always been ahead of the curve in providing its dealers with products that fit the latest homeowner trends. 

Triad’s latest product release is the InWall Bronze/4 SlimSub and the West Coast company says this new subwoofer is a compact low-frequency solution that measures 3 15/16 inches deep to fit into a standard 4-inch deep wall cutout and its grill mounts flush to provide electronics professionals with a product that meets their clients aesthetic aspirations. Triad says the sub is able to produce sound pressure levels (SPLs) as high as 109dB in the 40Hz to 80Hz region with bass extension of -6dB at 25Hz, and according to the company, the product not only looks better than the InWall Bronze/4 Sub model it replaces, but it also out performs the product too.

Larry Pexton, president of Triad Speakers, says the subwoofer achieves this improved performance through the implementation of a finely tuned enclosure that’s designed to match the performance characteristics of the sub’s proprietary long-throw, 10-inch aluminum cone woofer. A key component of the enclosure’s contribution to the sub’s performance Pexton adds is the use of an integrated round steel back plate that replaces the medium density fiberboard (MDF) behind the driver. This steel plate he says allows the enclosure to capture higher amounts of air volume to accommodate the throw of the drive unit.

The company also points out that from an installation perspective, the SlimSub fits into the same cut-out space as the company’s other architectural subwoofers so it can be marketed to existing clients as a retrofit upgrade, and to further augment its aesthetic capabilities, Triad says the sub is available with all three types of its Acustimesh material which also allows dealers to utilize its custom paint-matching services to ensure the sub integrates into a variety of homes.
